Guardiola Takes Precautions for Fulham Match: Manchester City Adjusts Training Ground Grass
Manchester City have prepared the grass at their training ground in anticipation of a dry surface at Fulham for their match on Saturday. Pep Guardiola revealed that his players practiced on the specially treated pitch on Thursday. Guardiola expressed concerns last season about the length and dryness of the pitch at Craven Cottage, despite winning there and is not taking any chances as his team aims for a fourth consecutive Premier League title.
He explained that they trained on both dry, high grass and normal grass to adapt to the differences likening it to playing on different surfaces at Wimbledon and Roland Garros. Guardiola prefers the grass at the Etihad Stadium to be 20mm long while Premier League rules dictate a maximum length of 30mm for match grass.
