Harry Kane achieved a new personal milestone scoring 31 league goals in a season as Bayern Munich defeated Darmstadt narrowing the gap on Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen to seven points. Despite Darmstadt taking the lead through Tim Skarke, Bayern rallied back with goals from Jamal Musiala, Kane who scored a diving header and Musiala again.
Substitutes Serge Gnabry and Mathys Tel added to Bayern’s tally while Darmstadt managed to score a second goal through Oscar Vilhelmsson. Despite initial resistance from Darmstadt in the first half, Bayern asserted control in the second half. However, there was a moment of concern when Kane appeared to injure his ankle colliding with a goalpost and was substituted in the 82nd minute.
Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel expressed uncertainty about the severity of Kane’s injury. Kane’s impressive goal-scoring record continued setting a new Bundesliga debut campaign record and preparing to face his former team Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-finals.
