Trainer Nicky Henderson has revealed that two of his top horses Shishkin and Champ will not be participating in the Cheltenham Festival due to health concerns. Shishkin previously considered for the Gold Cup showed an unsatisfactory result in a scope examination.
Henderson expressed disappointment but hopes they’ll be ready for future events like Aintree or Punchestown. Champ has also been withdrawn from the Paddy Power Stayers’ Hurdle. Henderson remains transparent about the stable’s struggles with previous withdrawals and ongoing issues.
Despite setbacks, Henderson has horses competing on Wednesday and hopes they’ll perform well. Ante-post punters are eager for Sir Gino’s participation in the Triumph Hurdle on Friday as he remains a strong favorite after a successful trial in January.
