Hull City head coach Liam Rosenior has been dismissed despite leading the team to their first top-half finish in the Championship since 2016. Despite being nominated for the Championship manager of the season award, Rosenior failure to secure a playoff spot led to his departure.

Hull owner Acun Ilicali stated that their visions for the future did not align, leading to the decision. Rosenior, who had a successful playing career began his coaching career with Brighton before joining Derby in 2019. He took over at Hull in December 2022 raising hopes of promotion after a strong start to the season.

However, a string of poor results saw their playoff hopes dashed, ultimately resulting in Rosenior dismissal. The decision has raised questions among fans and will test the relationship between the ownership and the fanbase.
