Iga Swiatek advances in her quest for a third consecutive Qatar Open title with a swift victory over Victoria Azarenka. Swiatek on an 11 matchs winning streak in Doha is set to face Karolina Pliskova in the semi-finals.
Pliskova ended Naomi Osaka’s impressive run with a 7-6 (8-6) 7-6 (7-5) win marking Osaka’s deepest tournament progression since her return to tennis after giving birth.
On the other side of the draw, Elena Rybakina overcame a 4-1 deficit in the first set to defeat Leylah Fernandez earning a spot in the semi-finals against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova who defeated Danielle Collins 7-5 6-4.
