Ilia Malinin Leads U.S. Figure Skating Team to World Championship Glory

The U.S. figure skating team, led by 19 years old Ilia Malinin, showcased a stellar performance at the 2024 world championships with Malinin delivering an exceptional display of athleticism including six quadruple jumps, to clinch his first world title.

Madison Chock and Evan Bates also secured a gold medal in ice dancing, marking a significant achievement for American skating. Additionally, 17 years old Isabeau Levito impressed with a silver medal in the women’s event, overcoming self-doubt and adversity.

The absence of Russian competitors due to the country’s ban from international events contributed to the Americans’ success, although uncertainties linger regarding the Russians’ participation in future competitions.
