In Birmingham, Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie claimed his first All England Open men’s singles badminton title by defeating compatriot Anthony Sinisuka Ginting 21-15, 21-14. This victory marked Christie maiden Super 1000 win and Indonesia’s first men’s singles title at the tournament since 1994.

In the men’s doubles final, Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto of Indonesia retained their title with a 21-16, 21-16 win over Malaysia’s Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik. Carolina Marin of Spain secured the women’s singles crown after Akane Yamaguchi retired due to a hip injury while trailing 26-24, 11-1.

Marin’s win ended a nine-year wait for her second All England title. Baek Ha-na and Lee So-hee of South Korea won the women’s doubles title and China’s Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong retained the mixed doubles title.
