Following Manchester United’s 2-1 defeat by Fulham some players requested a day off on Sunday deviating from the manager’s usual post-match routine of warm downs and video analysis. Despite the team’s lackluster performance, the request was denied by coaching staff emphasizing players’ commitments.

This comes after earlier complaints in November about manager Erik ten Hag overworking the squad during pre-season leading to a tired start to the campaign. The defeat by Fulham interrupted United’s five games winning streak raising scrutiny on Erik ten Hag especially with recent ownership changes.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s structural review includes new hirings like Omar Berrada as CEO and a potential role change for John Murtough. Erik ten Hag defended his management against criticism notably from Jamie Carragher acknowledging areas needing improvement after the Fulham game.

He also expressed support for Antony, stating confidence in the young player’s abilities. In terms of injuries, Harry Maguire is set to miss the upcoming game while Bruno Fernandes and Raphael Varane remain doubtful.
