Investigation Launched After PDC Player Punches Opponent at Pub Tournament

A shocking incident unfolded at the Nuneaton Darts Open when PDC darts player Adam Smith-Neale punched his opponent Sam Whittaker after being defeated in a pub tournament. The altercation captured on CCTV has sparked outrage among darts fans and prompted an investigation by the Darts Regulation Authority.

In the footage, Smith-Neale known as ‘Big Dog’ is seen throwing a punch at Whittaker after the match-winning dart was thrown. Whittaker despite being struck reacts calmly while a bystander intervenes to prevent further escalation. The incident has drawn widespread condemnation with calls for severe penalties against Smith-Neale.

The PDC has acknowledged the video and is conducting an investigation. The promoter of the event emphasized that such behavior will not be tolerated regardless of the individual’s status. Despite the controversy, the Nuneaton Darts Open proceeded with Steve Hine emerging as the eventual winner.
