Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) is exhibiting generosity by allowing their players to join the national team’s centralized training on March 15, three days ahead of the mandatory reporting date for clubs. While players from various clubs will join national training on March 18, JDT’s CEO Alistair Edwards stated that the Southern Tigers will release their players seven days before the first 2026 World Cup-2027 Asian Cup qualifying match against Oman on March 22.
This departure from standard practice aims to better prepare the national team, Harimau Malaya for the upcoming matches. Nine JDT players are part of the 33 players national squad including Ahmad Syihan Hazmi, Matt Davies, La’Vere Corbin Ong, Endrick dos Santos, Arif Aiman Hanapi, Shahrul Saad, Syamer Kutty Abba, Junior Eldstal and Romel Morales.
