Katie Boulter secured her first WTA 500 title by overcoming a set deficit to defeat Marta Kostyuk in the San Diego Open final. The 27 years old Briton triumphed with a score of 5-7, 6-2, 6-2 marking a significant milestone in her career. Boulter victory elevated her to a career high ranking of 27th globally.

In a post-match reflection, she expressed pride in her hard work and described the week as special. Boulter performance included converting seven of 11 break points while saving an equal number. Despite a challenging first set, she dominated from the second set onward, breaking Kostyuk multiple times.

Boulter boyfriend, Alex de Minaur flew in from Acapulco to support her after winning the Mexican Open. The win propels Boulter into the world’s top 30 making her eligible for seeding at the upcoming Grand Slam tournament in Paris.
