Kyren Wilson likened his journey in snooker to that of Rocky Balboa after securing his first world title at the World Championship final in Sheffield. The 32 years old Englishman defeated Jak Jones 18-14 marking his sixth victory in a ranking event and his inaugural triumph in one of snooker’s Triple Crown tournaments.

Wilson expressed his desire to build a legacy in the sport and aims to become a multiple world champion. Despite facing setbacks including previous defeats in major finals and struggles in his formative years, Wilson remained resilient and persevered.

He credited his family, particularly his father for their unwavering support and sacrifices throughout his career. Wilson’s victory represents the culmination of years of dedication and hard work fulfilling his childhood dream and cementing his place in snooker history.
