La Liga is reportedly investigating a video showing Real Madrid Vinicius Jr facing racial abuse during a game at Valencia. The footage, posted on social media allegedly depicts a child fan directing abuse at the player who had scored twice in the 2-2 draw.
Vinicius has encountered racial abuse multiple times in Spain including incidents with Atletico Madrid, Valladolid, Mallorca, Barcelona and a previous occurrence with Valencia. The latest incident is under scrutiny as authorities aim to address the persistent issue of racism in football.
Vinicius has been vocal about such abuse stating in May 2023 that “La Liga belongs to racists” after a previous incident with Valencia fans.
