Lecce a Serie A club has strongly condemned manager Roberto D’Aversa actions after he headbutted Verona striker Thomas Henry during their 1-0 loss on Sunday. D’Aversa (48) and Henry were both sent off following the incident.
In a statement, Lecce expressed strong disapproval stating that D’Aversa’s actions go against the club’s values and those of sport.
The altercation occurred at the end of the match and D’Aversa later admitted that his actions were “inexcusable.” The defeat dropped Lecce to 15th in Serie A just one point above the relegation zone in a closely contested battle.
