Speaking before a parliamentary committee, Masters expressed hope that the Everton investigation could be completed within weeks, citing challenges with satisfactory responses from American investors.

The Premier League and English Football League (EFL) faced criticism for their failure to reach a financial stability deal for English football. The committee discussed the need for an independent regulator. Masters acknowledged the frustration of Everton fans but emphasized the differences in charges against City. The 777 Partners’ bid for Everton’s conclusion remains uncertain.

The hearing highlighted the slow progress in resolving structural issues between the Premier League and EFL.
