Manchester United defender Harry Maguire faces further delays in his attempt to clear his name in the Mykonos assault case as a lawyers’ strike in Greece has led to the adjournment of his appeal hearing. Maguire had hoped to overturn his 21 months suspended sentence this week but the strike means only emergency cases can proceed.

The legal challenge arises from new tax measures. Maguire found guilty of assaulting police officers and other charges related to a 2020 incident has consistently denied wrongdoing. This latest setback follows previous delays in the legal proceedings raising uncertainties about the resolution of the case.
