Liberty’s Expansion: F1 Owner Acquires Majority Stake in MotoGP

Liberty the owner of F1 commercial rights since 2017, recently acquired an 86% stake in Dorna Sports and MotoGP for €4.2 billion. MotoGP sporting director, Carlos Ezpeleta mentioned the possibility of combined race weekends with F1 in the future. Lewis Hamilton a MotoGP enthusiast expressed excitement about the idea suggesting it would be epic to have both events on the same weekend.

However, he humorously acknowledged the impossibility of racing in both series simultaneously. While shared F1 and MotoGP events are currently unlikely, they could potentially happen at larger venues where both categories already race. Hamilton emphasized his dedication to Mercedes and his determination to return to winning form before his move to Ferrari in 2025.

He stressed the importance of focusing on improving performance and teamwork to achieve success.
