Life-Changing Triumph: Joe Dean the Delivery Driver, Shines at Kenya Open

Golfer and part-time delivery driver Joe Dean secured a “life-changing” prize of £170,000 at the Kenya Open finishing joint-second behind Darius van Driel. The British world No2930 who recently earned a spot on the DP World Tour through qualifying had been working as a part-time delivery driver for Morrisons just days before the event.

Unable to afford travel costs to compete after qualifying for the DP World Tour in 2023, Dean resumed his job until the Qatar Open earlier this month where he failed to make the cut. The 29 years old’s impressive performance in Nairobi marked a significant turnaround acknowledging the dream-like nature of his success and the challenges he overcame.
