Liverpool Maintains Premier League Lead as Salah Scores in Win Over Brentford

Mohamed Salah marked his return from injury with a goal as Liverpool defeated Brentford securing their lead in the Premier League. Darwin Nunez and Alexis Mac Allister contributed to Liverpool’s 3-1 win at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Salah recovering from a hamstring issue suffered during the Africa Cup of Nations scored with a precise finish. Ivan Toney netted for Brentford but Cody Gakpo sealed the victory for Liverpool.

The win briefly extended Liverpool’s lead to five points but Arsenal’s subsequent 5-0 triumph over Burnley narrowed the gap to two points. Despite the victory, Liverpool faced setbacks with injuries to Curtis Jones, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez as noted by manager Jurgen Klopp.
