Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that forward Diogo Jota will be sidelined for “months” due to a knee injury sustained in the match against Brentford. Jota was stretchered off just before halftime after a collision with Christian Norgaard. Although reports suggest a potential two months absence, Klopp anticipates a more extended recovery.
Diogo Jota who recently won the January player of the month award expressed determination to return as soon as possible. In addition to Diogo Jota, Curtis Jones and Alisson Becker are also dealing with injuries. Jones has a bone ligament injury while Alisson is sidelined with a muscle issue.
Jurgen Klopp acknowledges the challenging situation but did not provide specific timelines for their returns. Liverpool is already coping with injuries to Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dominik Szoboszlai and Thiago Alcantara.
