Luke Humphries the world champion secured victory in the German Darts Grand Prix by defeating Michael van Gerwen 8-1 in the final in Munich. Humphries dominated throughout the tournament, showcasing exceptional form, particularly in his final match against Van Gerwen where he achieved an impressive average of 112.66, the second-highest ever recorded in a European Tour final.

 Humphries’ performance included six 180s and crucial checkouts, including a bullseye for 170. Van Gerwen, a three times winner of the event was unable to match Humphries’ level of play despite comfortably advancing through earlier rounds.

Reflecting on his win, Humphries expressed his delight at achieving the victory on the same day he won his first European Tour title two years ago highlighting the significance of the moment.
