Luke Humphries delivered an impressive performance securing his first ever night win at Premier League Darts in Brighton. The 29 years old world champion defeated Gerwyn Price 6-2, Rob Cross 6-3 and Michael Smith 6-3 propelling him to second place in the standings. Humphries’ victory narrowed Michael van Gerwen’s lead to three points as Van Gerwen suffered a quarter-final defeat to Cross.
Despite missing two match darts in the quarter-final, Peter Wright couldn’t secure a win and Michael Smith ultimately won the night. Humphries reflecting on his triumph expressed satisfaction with his improved performance since the World Championship and highlighted the boost from reaching the UK Open final.
In the final, Humphries defeated Smith 6-3. The upcoming night in Nottingham features quarter-final matchups between Peter Wright and Gerwyn Price, Luke Humphries and Michael Smith, Michael van Gerwen and Luke Littler and Rob Cross and Nathan Aspinall.
