Luke Littler Expresses Disappointment Following Premier League Defeat

Luke Littler expressed his disappointment following his defeat to Michael van Gerwen in the Premier League on Thursday night. Despite his thrilling victory over Rob Cross earlier in the evening, Littler fell short in the final showdown in Berlin, losing 6-5 to Van Gerwen after missing two match darts.

Taking to Instagram, the 17-year-old shared his disappointment with the result, stating, “Disappointed not to get over the line, more points on the board, Glasgow [soon].” His girlfriend, Eloise Milburn, who joined him for the trip to Germany, also showed her support on social media, expressing her pride in his performance and congratulating him on reaching the final in Berlin.

In the standings, Michael Smith remains at the top with seven points, while both Littler and Van Gerwen have five points each. Gerwyn Price follows with three points, while Rob Cross and Luke Humphries have two points each, and Peter Wright and Nathan Aspinall are yet to score.

Reflecting on the match, Van Gerwen praised Littler’s performance and expressed satisfaction with his own display. He described the games against Littler as always being good, highlighting the high quality of play throughout the evening. Despite missing some treble 20s, Van Gerwen felt pleased with his performance, especially in crucial moments, and expressed confidence that there is more to come.
