On his European Tour debut, 17 years old Luke Littler claimed victory at the Belgian Open, defeating Rob Cross 8-7 in a closely contested final. Littler highlight was a nine-darter securing a 103.76 average in the final. Despite losing the next two legs after the nine-darter, Littler expressed relief at crossing the finish line. Cross praised his opponent’s exceptional performance and predicted a bright future for the young talent.

During the tournament, Cross set a European Tour record with 30 maximum 180s on his way to the final. However, Littler faced controversy in a semifinal clash with Ricardo Pietreczko leading to an “arrogance” accusation from the German player. Littler unaware of the issue responded expressing confusion and a willingness to avoid a repeat. The Belgian Open marked a significant achievement for the emerging darts talent.
