Lydia Ko’s Olympic Dream: A Fairytale Ending in Paris 2024

Lydia Ko, a two-time Olympic medallist, is eagerly anticipating the upcoming Summer Games in Paris, hoping for a ‘fairytale ending’ after narrowly missing gold in 2016 and 2020. Ko, who secured silver in Rio de Janeiro and bronze in Tokyo, had a challenging 2023 on the LPGA Tour but ended the year on a high note by winning the Grant Thornton Invitational. With just 200 days until the Olympics, Ko is focused on representing New Zealand for the third time, expressing her excitement and gratitude for the opportunity. At 26, she acknowledges that Paris might be her last chance for Olympic glory before the 2028 Games in Los Angeles. Ko sees the upcoming event as a potential “last hoo-rah” and dreams of achieving a ‘fairy tale ending’ by collecting every color medal in Paris.
