Harimau Malaya head coach Kim Pan Gon and his coaching team are reportedly dissatisfied with the national team’s current situation and are willing to resign if necessary. According to a source close to the team management, they have submitted a letter to the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) expressing their readiness to part ways and are requesting three months’ salary as compensation.
Despite denial from FAM secretary-general, concerns over recent poor performances including consecutive losses to Oman in the World Cup/Asian Cup qualifiers may have contributed to the coaches’ decision. Kim Pan Gon has previously achieved significant milestones with the team including qualifying for the Asian Cup and elevating Malaysia’s world ranking. He has brought in several assistants since his appointment in 2022.
