Birmingham chairman, Tom Wagner, remains committed to the club’s ambitious plans despite their relegation to League One marking a significant setback after a disappointing season. As Aston Villa eyes Champions League qualification, Birmingham faces a return to the third tier for the first time since 1994-95. The Norwich fans’ mocking chant highlighted Birmingham plight as they narrowly missed out on survival despite a victory.

Manager Gary Rowett expressed belief in the club’s potential for a resurgence but acknowledged the challenges ahead. Birmingham season was marred by managerial changes and inconsistent performances ultimately leading to their downfall. Despite moments of hope including Paik Seung-ho crucial goal, Birmingham fate was sealed by results elsewhere.

The club’s future remains uncertain overshadowed by missed opportunities and self-inflicted setbacks.
