Manchester United is reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich striker Mathys Tel according to Sky Germany. The 18 years old is being monitored by United as they plan to acquire a striker in the summer transfer window.
Despite being aware of the interest from Manchester United, Tel remains determined to secure the position of first choice at Bayern. Talks with the club are anticipated in the upcoming weeks and if he perceives a lack of belief from the club he will explore his options in the summer.
Tel has impressive stats this season scoring six goals and providing three assists in 732 minutes of play for Bayern. He faces competition for playing time from Harry Kane and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. Bayern is also considering signing a new striker in the summer given the likely non-extension of Choupo-Moting’s contract.
Furthermore, the buzz around INEOS’s potential purchase of a 25% stake in Manchester United and the club’s restructuring initiatives including the potential appointments of figures like Dan Ashworth and Jason Wilcox continues to grow.
United manager Erik ten Hag recognizes the ambition introduced by INEOS highlighting the alignment of both players and staff with the club’s aspirations.
