Manchester United: Marcus Rashford Takes Responsibility for Actions, Club Considers Matter Resolved

Manchester United has once again sidelined Marcus Rashford, this time for reportedly being out late in Belfast. This marks the second instance this season that the English striker has faced exclusion from the squad. Reports surfaced that Rashford was seen in bars on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, prompting his absence from Friday’s training session, where he cited illness.

The club issued a statement on Monday, asserting that Rashford has “taken responsibility for his actions,” and they consider the matter closed. As a result, he is once again available for selection under manager Erik ten Hag.

Rashford’s conspicuous absence was notable during Manchester United’s recent 4-2 victory over Newport County on Sunday evening. When questioned about the situation, Ten Hag described it as an “internal matter.”

The 26-year-old forward had previously faced a squad exclusion earlier in the campaign after being spotted in a Manchester nightclub following a 3-0 defeat to Manchester City in November.

In response to the recent controversy, the club addressed the issue as an internal disciplinary matter, assuring that it has been resolved. Rashford is reported to have returned to training, and there are indications that he could be part of the squad for United’s upcoming Premier League away match against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Thursday.

Despite Rashford’s stellar performance last season, where he scored 30 goals under Ten Hag’s management, his current campaign has been less prolific, with only four goals to his name. Manchester United continues to grapple with finding their top form as they navigate through challenges in the ongoing season.
