Manchester United new technical director Jason Wilcox watched alongside Wayne Rooney as the club’s Under-18s achieved a league and cup double against Manchester City. This victory followed their earlier success in winning the Premier League North title.
The young players including Harry Amass and Ethan Wheatley who featured in the FA Cup semi-final were encouraged by first-team manager Erik ten Hag to participate in the Premier League Cup final. Wheatley first-half brace along with contributions from other young talents impressed Wilcox who recently joined United.
The technical director aims to form a partnership with Erik ten Hag to accelerate the club’s progress. Former technical director Darren Fletcher also remains involved in the football leadership team under a new title.
