Marcus Smith Injury Sparks Fly-Half Dilemma for England Ahead of Italy Clash

Marcus Smith’s injury during training has raised concerns for England ahead of the Six Nations opener against Italy. With Owen Farrell unavailable and several other key players absent including Manu Tuilagi and Jonny May, Smith’s potential absence leaves coach Steve Borthwick with a fly-half dilemma. George Ford is expected to start but Fin Smith could make his debut if needed.

Meanwhile, Henry Slade in good form for Exeter is emerging as a senior figure in midfield. Despite uncertainty over his contract Slade remains committed to England and is hopeful for a competitive offer from Exeter. The training camp also saw uncapped players Immanuel Feyi-Waboso and Ethan Roots join with Feyi-Waboso choosing England over Wales with Slade’s guidance.
