Mark Selby Contemplates Snooker Future After Tour Championship Loss

After a disappointing loss to Gary Wilson in the Tour Championship first round, four-time world champion Mark Selby expressed uncertainty about his future in snooker. Despite winning the Championship League in March, Selby has struggled with inconsistent form this season.

Frustrated with his performance and lack of enjoyment, he hinted at the possibility of exploring other endeavors. Selby, who has battled mental health issues and personal struggles including his wife’s battle with cancer, admitted feeling flat during the match.

Meanwhile, Ali Carter held off Barry Hawkins to set up a tense clash with Ronnie O’Sullivan while Mark Williams narrowly defeated Tom Ford to advance to the next round against Judd Trump. Gary Wilson though victorious was critical of his own performance and aims to improve in the upcoming match against Zhang Anda.
