Mark Waugh Slams Alastair Cook Defense of England’s Poor Test Series Performance

Australian cricket legend Mark Waugh criticized Alastair Cook for defending England poor performance in the Test series against India. Cook the former England skipper suggested that the players are not robots and highlighted the challenges of being away from home for an extended period.

India secured a 4-1 series win defeating England by an innings and 64 runs in the Dharamsala Test. Waugh expressed disbelief at Cook’s perspective emphasizing that international cricketers train for and get paid to handle such tours. England’s struggles continued in the Test, impacting their chances in the World Test Championship.

With only three wins in 10 matches, England is currently eighth in the table while India leads with 68.51 percentage points. The series loss has raised concerns about England qualification for the WTC final.
