Mason Greenwood is reportedly considering a return to Manchester United believing it could help mend his parents’ strained marriage. Currently on loan at Getafe, Greenwood’s father accompanied him to Spain causing distance between his parents. While there were rumors of Greenwood staying in Spain, the player sees rejoining Manchester United as a potential solution to his family issues.
Despite interest from top clubs including Barcelona and previous reluctance due to issues with United’s handling of his situation, family considerations may influence Greenwood’s decision. Getafe is interested in retaining him either permanently or on loan. Since the dropping of charges in February 2023, Greenwood has been in Spain where his father has established a base to support him.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s partial takeover at United sparked speculation about Greenwood’s return but the player has expressed dissatisfaction with the club’s support. Getafe wants discussions about Greenwood’s future as he has scored seven goals in 25 league games for them.
