Mathys Tel has extended his contract with FC Bayern until June 30, 2029. The 18 years old France U21 international who joined Bayern from Stade Rennes in 2022 was initially contracted until summer 2027. Max Eberl, FC Bayern board member for sport emphasized Tel’s importance for the team’s future highlighting him as a key figure in the next generation of Bayern players.
Christoph Freund, FC Bayern sporting director praised Tel’s talent hunger and learning attitude noting his special abilities at the age of 18. Tel expressed his gratitude and commitment to Bayern considering Munich as his home and aiming to contribute to the club’s success in the coming years.
Since joining Bayern, Tel has made 59 competitive appearances scoring 13 goals and winning the Bundesliga in his first season.
