As the Chinese Grand Prix approaches, F1 teams prepare for the controversial return of the sprint race format. Max Verstappen currently leading the championship heads to Shanghai as the favorite with speculation surrounding the futures of top drivers amid Mercedes’ search for Lewis Hamilton replacement.

The Shanghai International Circuit hosts its first race in five years, with Hamilton claiming victory in 2019. This weekend introduces a new format, including sprint race qualifying on Friday and a shortened race on Saturday morning.

Max Verstappen expresses dissatisfaction with the FIA decision to experiment with the schedule in China preferring a traditional race weekend setup.
