Max Verstappen Red Bull Exit? Contract Clause Raises Questions Amid Team Discord

There is speculation that Max Verstappen may depart from the Red Bull F1 team before 2028 triggered by an exit clause in his contract related to the presence of Helmut Marko. Recent turmoil surrounding Christian Horner alleged inappropriate conduct has raised uncertainties off-track although Red Bull had a successful 1-2 finish in the Bahrain Grand Prix.

Horner was cleared of misconduct after an investigation but the controversy persists with alleged evidence being circulated. Verstappen’s father, Jos hinted at potential team disruption suggesting Horner resignation. Verstappen future with Red Bull seems tied to Marko and the advisor stated he wouldn’t obstruct Verstappen departure if he chose to leave.

This situation follows reports linking Verstappen to a move to Mercedes in 2025.
