McLaren has unveiled its 2024 Formula 1 car the MCL38 but certain parts are intentionally hidden to maintain an element of secrecy. The team has employed tactics such as limiting the number of images specific angles to disguise areas, and fitting basic wings and a simple floor to conceal sensitive elements. The sidepod inlet approach and the floor edge are deliberately obscured adding an element of mystery to the car’s design.

While the unveiled car is described as “pretty accurate,” McLaren’s deliberate efforts to hide certain details indicate a strategic move to maintain a competitive edge and avoid giving away too much information to rivals. The team’s approach reflects the competitive nature of F1 during launch season where teams often use tactics to keep some design ideas confidential until closer to the start of the season.
