Michael van Gerwen secured his third consecutive nightly win in the Premier League of Darts defeating Nathan Aspinall 6-4 in Newcastle. With an eight points lead at the top of the table van Gerwen extended his winning streak after triumphs in Berlin and Glasgow.
The Dutch seven times champion showcased his form overcoming challenges from Gerwyn Price and Luke Littler in the quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively. Aspinall seeking his first win this season beat Michael Smith and Rob Cross.
Van Gerwen maintaining focus week by week aims to break records without setting specific targets. Night five is scheduled for Exeter on February 29.
