Mixed Fortunes for Malaysia at French Open Men's Doubles: Shock Exit and Convincing Victory

Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin Rumsani’s men’s doubles campaign at the French Open came to an early end when they were defeated in the opening round by Taiwanese pair Lee Fang-chih and Lee Fang-jen.

Despite being higher-ranked, the Malaysian duo lost 19-21, 17-21 in a surprising result.

In contrast, Malaysia’s other men’s pair, Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun secured a spot in the second round by defeating Canada’s Kevin Lee and Ty Alexander Lindeman with a convincing score of 21-16, 21-8.

Despite a slow start in the first game, Wei Chong-Kai Wun dominated the second game setting up a clash with top seeds Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty of India in the next round.

Satwiksairaj-Chirag advanced after defeating Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi in the opening match.
