Mixed Results for Malaysian Shuttlers in Europe

Lee Zii Jia’s recent performances in Europe have been inconsistent, facing a setback after reaching the quarter-finals at the All-England tournament. Despite being the top seed at the Swiss Open, Zii Jia suffered an early exit in the second round due to a foot injury, losing to India’s K. Srikanth. This defeat follows his loss to Magnus Johannesen at the French Open.

Additionally, Zii Jia faced another defeat to an Indian player, Lakshya Sen at the All-England. In men’s doubles, Malaysia’s Choong Hon Jian-Mohd Haikal Nazri advanced to the quarter-finals, along with mixed doubles pairs Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei and Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie who are expected to face tough competition in the next round.
