England’s performance against Italy in their opening Six Nations game was solid with new players like Ethan Roots and Tommy Freeman showing promise. Freeman’s instinctive play and Roots’ clever footwork impressed.

However, there were concerns about England’s tactics in the final minutes as they seemed to revert to conservative strategies instead of pressing for more points. Danny Care and Fin Smith off the bench didn’t exploit Italy’s weaknesses as expected.

Despite the win, there’s room for improvement particularly in maintaining aggression and exploiting opportunities. Looking ahead to the Wales game, England is expected to be stronger with the potential to capitalize on their physicality and new talent.

Ireland’s impressive display against France serves as a testament to the unpredictable nature of the competition.
