Andy Murray suffered a defeat at the Open Sud de France, losing 2-6, 7-6(5), 6-3 to Benoit Paire after a promising start. The loss followed Murray’s early exit from the Australian Open. In the first set, Murray capitalized on Paire’s errors securing an early break and taking the set. However, Paire bounced back breaking Murray early in the second set.
Despite Murray’s efforts to force a tie-break Paire claimed the set. In the third set, Paire secured an early break, and although Murray fought back Paire eventually sealed the win. Meanwhile, Katie Boulter advanced at the Linz Open defeating Jasmine Paolini 6-2, 6-2 in 72 minutes.
