Netflix’s ‘Drive to Survive’ Unveils Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes Departure Drama

The latest season of Netflix’s “Drive to Survive” has revealed Lewis Hamilton’s uncertainty about his long terms commitment to Mercedes during the 2023 Formula 1 season. Despite signing a contract extension with Mercedes in August intended to last until the end of 2025, Hamilton surprised the sporting world by activating a break clause to join Ferrari for the 2025 season.

Behind the scenes footage in the documentary shows a conversation between Hamilton and team principal Toto Wolff where Hamilton expresses concerns about Mercedes’ performance and Wolff attempts to convince him to stay with the team. Hamilton hints at the importance of his current years and raises doubts about his future.
