According to sources, the New England Patriots have filled a need at wide receiver by agreeing to a one year contract with K.J. Osborn. The deal is worth $4 million with the potential to reach $6 million. Despite this acquisition, the Patriots are still looking to upgrade at receiver possibly through the draft given the depth and talent at the position this year.
Osborn joins a depth chart that includes veterans JuJu Smith-Schuster, Kendrick Bourne and Jalen Reagor along with promising slot receiver Demario “Pop” Douglas. Osborn drafted by the Vikings in 2020 emerged as their No. 3 receiver behind Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen tallying impressive stats over his tenure.
With Thielen’s departure and the addition of Jordan Addison in 2023, Osborn’s role became less prominent resulting in fewer targets and reduced production in the 2023 season. Despite this, Osborn brings valuable experience and potential to the Patriots’ receiving corps.
