Newcastle United is strongly linked with a move for England goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale ahead of the summer transfer window. While the prospect of Ramsdale joining Newcastle is not new it aligns well with the club’s goalkeeping needs and the history between Ramsdale and manager Eddie Howe. The club is expected to seek a new goalkeeper this summer especially with Loris Karius set to leave at the end of his contract and Martin Dubravka approaching the latter stages of his career.
Ramsdale valued at £30 million could provide quality depth to the squad with assistant head of scouting Andy Howe having scouted him extensively during his time at Bournemouth. Having previously shown appreciation towards Howe, Ramsdale might view Newcastle as a chance to rejuvenate his career, particularly following his struggles at Arsenal.
At 25, he could serve as a valuable addition to the Newcastle squad, providing competition for the top goalkeeper position alongside current player Nick Pope.
