Last night, Newcastle United announced that Joelinton underwent successful surgery for a thigh injury sustained in the FA Cup win over Sunderland. The statement mentioned his expected return to action in May 2024. Joelinton, in response on Instagram, acknowledged the end of his season unless he features in May fixtures against Burnley, Brighton and Brentford. The Brazilian, yet to sign a new contract, expressed determination in overcoming this challenge and thanked everyone for their support. Bruno Guimaraes and former teammate Allan Saint-Maximin sent supportive messages on Instagram. Allan wrote, “Take care, my brother,” and Bruno added, “You will come back stronger brother!! Good head. We will be together till the end.” Wishing Joelinton a speedy recovery, hoping he comes back stronger, and possibly agreeing to a new contract soon.
