Nigeria Advances to AFCON Final with Dramatic Shootout Victory Over South Africa

Nigeria secured their spot in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final with a 4-2 shootout victory over South Africa after a 1-1 draw in normal time. William Troost-Ekong opened the scoring for Nigeria with a penalty but Teboho Mokoena equalized for South Africa in the 90th minute.
The game went to extra time, where Grant Kekana received a red card for South Africa. The match concluded with a penalty shootout and Nigeria emerged victorious setting up a final against Ivory Coast. Kelechi Iheanacho scored the winning penalty for Nigeria.
