Beale emphasized that Sunderland deserved their point citing strong performances throughout the match including a crucial goal line clearance. Despite Boro dominating the second half, Beale felt Sunderland’s resilience warranted the draw.
The result leaves Sunderland ahead of Boro by three points in the Championship standings. Beale acknowledged the importance of the point particularly as the away team and stressed the need for consistency and improvement especially in defending set-pieces.
