Nick Kyrgios has addressed rumors of his retirement, clarifying that he has no plans to quit professional tennis. Despite a column suggesting otherwise, Kyrgios affirmed his intention to return to the sport after recovering from injuries.Kyrgios, who has been sidelined due to injuries emphasized his determination to make a comeback, citing his protected ranking of 21 in singles and 11 in doubles.

He acknowledged the challenges of rehabbing from injuries but remains committed to returning to competition. Although he hasn’t played since June and battled various ailments, Kyrgios had a notable season in 2022 reaching the Wimbledon final.

Despite his absence from the court, he has remained active as a commentator for ESPN and Eurosport during the Australian Open. Kyrgios joked about waiting for Novak Djokovic to retire before making his return but affirmed that he is indeed planning to come back to competitive tennis.
